About Downey Orrick & Elliott Starno

Guitarist Downey Orrick and drummer Elliott Starno are no strangers to trial and error, but what lays between them is a cohesive musical partnership that has spanned half a decade. After initially meeting virtually in 2010, Downey relocated from San Francisco to the suburbs of Marin County where the two met in hopes of starting an original rock and roll band. Within the course of the next four years, they had formed two bands: hard rock-based ‘The Jaded’ and pop-driven ‘Vintage Suns’. Both projects were met with high acclaim, they put out several records and played live in the San Francisco Bay Area music

scene extensively before temporarily ending their partnership for the better part of 2015.

Downey would go on to record and release his first solo effort, while Elliott focused his drumming on studio session work. In 2016 the duo decided to write some new music just for fun. Displaying their multi-instrumental talents, their brand new single ‘FunkHop’ was created as a loose comedy-induced satire, taking inspiration from ‘70s disco and funk to current arena pop.
